AstaxanthinAstaxanthin is a natural, fat/oil soluble, carotenoid pigment and powerful antioxidant. Unlike many carotenoids, it does not convert into vitamin A (retinol) in the body. It can be found in lobster, salmon, shrimp, crayfish, trout, krill, crustaceans, yeast and microalgae.
Astaxanthin can also be found as a dietary supplement taken for its antioxidant properties. It can be found in natural or synthetic form.
